    About the Artist

    Jordan Krimstein, a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he majored in graphic design and studied painting with Boris Anisfeld, the renowned Russian painter and set designer for Leon Bakst, Diaghalev, Nijinsky, and Pavolova.  After graduating from the School of the Art Institute, Krimstein's work expanded from oil painting to a concentration on transparent watercolors as his medium of choice, landscape is his passion.

    A teacher as well as a painter, Jordan has taught at the Blackhawk Mountain School of Art, Blackhawk, Colorado (Member Board of Directors), Suburban Fine Art Center, Highland Park, Illinois (Member Board of Directors), and lectures at Lynn University, Boca Raton, Florida.

    He has served as National President of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago Alumni Association and is a Member of the School's Board of Governors.

    Krimstein's paintings have won many awards.  In 1995, he received the Silver Hugo Award/ International Film Festival and an Emmy for paintings of his that were part of the film "Choosing One's Way".

    A recent exhibition of his works at the Kenneth Probst Galleries in Chicago featuring works done on site in Venice, Italy was a sell out.  He has exhibited his sketchbooks of Israel, Budapest, Prague and Poland at two synagogues in Chicago.

    In addition to his painting, Krimstein spent 38 years at Campbell Mithuin Advertising Agency as an Executive Vice President and Executive Creative Director and Member of the Board, leading the agency on such national accounts as Kroger Co., International Dairy Queen, Land O' Lakes and Master Lock.
