    Red Potatoes

    red potatos

Potatoes were the main source of nourishment. We grew them in our fields. They were used in countless main dishes. We ate boiled, baked, and mashed potatoes, potato pudding, potato pirogen. Potato soup with browned flour was excellent for a good heartburn! There was a song that we used to sing: "Sunday Potatoes, Monday Potatoes, Tuesday and Wednesday Potatoes, Thursday Potatoes, Friday Potatoes, Shabbos in cholent (Sabbath stew) also Potatoes!"
