Original document issued by the Rabbinical Committee , American Occupation Zone, Munich / Vaad L'inianei Agunot (= Rabbinical Committee for deserted or abandoned women ).

This is a permit given by the Committee to a woman who lost her husband in the Holocaust to remarry another man . In the Judaism it is impossible for a woman to re - marry without this permit if her husband is believed to be alive. This permit is so important to a woman's life in Judaism - hence it was signed by 4 different Rabbis (!). Issued late 1945 .
